The soldier injured during a training exercise last week has passed away from his injuries.
Sgt. Michael T. Trask, 31, was critically wounded during a live fire training exercise at Fort Stewart in Hinesville. He died at a Savannah hospital.
Trash was an infantryman from Olalla, Washington assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division. He was posthumously promoted to sergeant and his name carries medals from both Afghanistan and Iraq, a Combat Infantryman Badge, and an Army Commendation Medal.
He is survived by his wife. As of yet, Fort Stewart has been mum on additional details about the incident saying it is still under investigation.
